Platts GOs REGOs Credit Assessments Commentary

  • Nordic hydro 24 jumps to Eur0.83/MWh
  • UK REGO non-bio CP-23 stays unchanged at GBP8.7/MWh


European Guarantees of Origin rebounded across vintages on May 17, reversing price drops seen during the prior session.

Platts assessed Nordic hydro 2024 and 2025 up by 11 euro cent/MWh, recovering to 83 euro cent/MWh and Eur1.54/MWh respectively.

EuGOs fell steadily during the week on oversupplied market conditions, however, sources reported a sudden reversal in the price trend of at least 1 euro cent/MWh during the day.

As seen in prior sessions, later vintage prices were more volatile with calendar 2026 swinging upwards by 13 euro cent/MWh to Eur1.65/MWh, and 2027 surging by 25 euro cent/MWh to close the week at Eur1.77/MWh.

Meanwhile, UK Renewable Guarantees of Origin ended the week flat as slow activity persisted.

Platts assessed non-bio CP-23 unchanged at GBP8.7/MWh, and bio CP-23 steady at GBP8.2/MWh.
