European Guarantees of Origin closed the week at new historic lows following continued bearish sentiment, while UK REGOs for Bio certificates saw increases on the session May 3.

“The curve lost almost 30 cents on average this week. I am expecting a correction but in the next 2 weeks there will be 2 big auctions on 2024, so it is definitely not bullish for now,” a Europe-based GOs trader said.

Market activity remained steady, with multiple trades heard for AIB hydro/wind/solar certificates. The trade for 2024 certificates fell to as low as Eur1.07/MWh, however for smaller volumes, according to sources.

Platts assessed Nordic hydro 2024 GO at Eur1.13/MWh, after it shed its price by 13 euro cent/MWh at market close.

Similarly, EU wind and solar for 2026-2028 vintages dropped by 18 euro cent/MWh to Eur2.07/MWh after bids and offers were lower.

In the UK Renewable Guarantees of Origin market, biomass certificates jumped GBP0.5/MWh on higher indicated values, narrowing their spread to their non-biomass counterparts.

Platts assessed bio CP-23 up GBP0.25/MWh at GBP8.1/MWh, while CP-24 and CP-25 rose GBP0.4/MWh to GBP6.7/MWh and GBP6.05/MWh, respectively.

Meanwhile, non-bio CP-23 remained unchanged at GBP8.6/MWh following stable pricing indications.
